Barney Frank is not impressed by Bernie Sanders.:

...It’s ironic that we complain about voter suppression and shortened voting times and then we have so many caucuses. The caucuses are the least democratic political operation in America. They cater to the people who have a lot of time on their hands, and what’s interesting is Sanders is the nominee of the caucuses and Hillary is the nominee of the primaries...

The Washington Post has retracted its anonymously sourced claim that 147 FBI agents are detailed to the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server, and is now reporting that the real number is fewer than 50. GOPers Even Break Promises To Selves

First Read: Backing Away from the GOP Loyalty Pledge - NBC News:

Back in September, when Donald Trump signed that loyalty pledge to the Republican Party with great fanfare, how many people really thought the promise would hold? Last night marked the moment when Trump formally dumped the pledge, saying when asked if he still respects his promise to back the GOP nominee: "No, I don't anymore. No. We'll see who it is." John Kasich made moves to back away yesterday too, saying "If the nominee is somebody that I think is really hurting the country, and dividing the country, I can't stand behind them, but we have a ways to go." And Ted Cruz continued to go right up to the line again, reiterating the argument he made last week that he's "not in the habit" of supporting people who attack his family. Look, we've already long since been past the point when any of the likely outcomes of the Republican convention result in a party that's anything but split between the pro- and anti- Trump crowds. But yesterday is yet another date to circle in the history of the GOP's identity crisis nonetheless...

NYT Clinton Confession

Politics as sport | Gene Lyons | Arkansas news, politics, opinion, restaurants, music, movies and art:

...Meanwhile, no less an authority than Jill Abramson, until quite recently the editor of the New York Times, has essentially conceded that the newspaper has never given Hillary Clinton an even break.

In a remarkable interview in Politico, Abramson doesn't quite admit that Times-created "scandal" narratives from Whitewater through the current hullabaloo over her State Department emails have been somewhere between wildly exaggerated and pulp fiction.

But she does talk about how "we ... expect total purity from a woman candidate." Abramson adds that "Where I think Hillary Clinton faces ... certainly more of a burden is that the controversies she's been in are immediately labeled, you know, 'travelgate or 'emailgate' ... [I]f you actually asked people what about any of these controversies bothers them, they don't know anything specific about any of them."

Well, no kidding.

In my experience of scandal monitoring, that's because there's nothing specific to know.

Debunking The Right

Law Professor Explains Why Hillary Clinton "Won't Be Indicted And Shouldn't Be" Over Her Email Server | Blog | Media Matters for America:

...Right-wing media have hyped the idea of an imminent criminal indictment over Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server despite experts consistently debunking claims that Clinton violated the law. In a March piece for American Prospect, Lempert wrote that Clinton's email use did not constitute criminal conduct, noting that relevant law says one must "knowingly and willfully" disclose "certain categories of classified information" to violate the statutes regarding the disclosure of classified information. Lempert explained that Clinton "would have had to know she was dealing with classified information, and either that she was disclosing it to people who could not be trusted to protect the interests of the United States." He also noted that heads of agencies, such as Secretary of State, "have considerable authority with respect to classified information," including declassifying material their agency has classified (emphasis original):..

On Subtle Genderism

Kudos to Salon (a sentence I thought I'd never write). They have published one of the most insightful articles yet on that Clinton bugaboo-- "likeability." And big "thank-you" to

My Gen X Hillary problem: I know why we don’t “like” Clinton - Salon.com:

...And in that moment, as the young Iowan’s voice rattled around in my head, I knew I would support Hillary. Not just because we both have a uterus (thank you, Killer Mike). Not because I’m afraid of going to a special place in hell (thank you, Madeleine Albright). I’m supporting her because as a member of Generation X, I’ve lived through enough to understand that if Hillary were a man she’d be the front-runner hands-down. I haven’t suffered the overt sexism of earlier generations, but in its place has come a more oblique, more insidious variant. It’s the kind that makes you question whether the fault might lie with you and your abilities. It gives rise to questions about why people aren’t enthusiastic about you, why they didn’t like it when you took a strident tone with them and then, when you adjusted course, complained that you weren’t aggressive enough, or why there’s something about you that just feels wrong. In politics people call this likability. And the female politicians we “like” are few and far between, because they remind us of our mothers or wives or that girl you hated in gymnastics class. We don’t have a frame of reference for what it looks like for women to be running the show, so if she’s not a man, she comes across as all wrong. In the tech world people don’t talk about “likability.” Instead they say, “Mike is going to present to the client because he’s got a great style. But don’t worry, you’ll still have a few slides that you can really own...”

REPORT: Legal Experts Side with Hillary Clinton on Use of Private Emails - Blue Nation Review:

...The fact that legal experts have agreed that it is very unlikely that Hillary will be indicted, and that existing law isn’t designed to be (mis)applied to this situation, has largely gone uncovered by the national media.

The most likely explanation for that failure is because they want to continue to doggedly elevate this bureaucratic review into a criminal scandal, in order to take down the woman most likely to be the nation’s first female president.

On The Real Judical Activists

Supreme Court fight is about democracy - San Francisco Chronicle:

There’s a reason beyond garden-variety partisanship that Senate Republicans resist even holding hearings on President Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. Their gambit evades a full and open debate over the conservative judicial agenda, which is to use the high court in an aggressive and political way to reverse decades of progressive legislation.

The central irony here: The very conservatives who use “judicial activism” as a battering ram against liberals are now the aggressive judicial activists. It’s precisely because Garland’s record reveals him to be a devout practitioner of judicial restraint that an intellectually frank dialogue over his nomination would be so dangerous to the right. It would expose the radicalism of their jurisprudence...

Some Advice For Sanders

From http://www.dailynewsbin.com/opinion

...I’ve followed Bernie Sanders in congress for about fifteen years. I rooted for him whenever he began stomping his feet and demanding that the other politicians in the room take the issues seriously. But when I now try telling my friends that Bernie used to be a forthright guy, they don’t believe me. All they know him for is his downward spiral over the past three months. In their eyes he’s the sore loser who sued the party. He’s the cheater who faked all the endorsements in the early primaries. He’s the jackass who spent the last debate being so overtly rude and seethingly angry toward Hillary Clinton, you’d have thought she ran over his dog. Nobody, outside of his dwindling minority of fanatical supporters, likes this guy anymore. And it’s a real shame...

Debunking Ayn Rand

Column: What Ayn Rand got wrong about human nature | PBS NewsHour:

The take-home point is this: The annals of history show that even if one is talented enough to create enormous wealth, monopolizing that wealth for oneself is a dangerous course of action. Or as billionaire Nick Hanauer puts it, “Beware, fellow plutocrats: The pitchforks are coming.” Wealth is never created in a social vacuum. You may have the genius to design a better mousetrap, but you will inevitably depend on the work of others to implement and distribute your produce and the income of others to enable them to buy your product. The auto industry needs more than a few billionaires to buy their cars in order to stay in business. The finance industry needs employees with surplus income to buy their investment products. Put simply, wealth must be distributed to keep the wheels of commerce turning.

GOP Does The NyahNyahNyah Nyah

Opinion: Republicans obstruct on Merrick Garland, just because they can - LA Times:

President Obama has made the Republicans an offer they can't refuse. But refusing they are, as the party in control of Congress has incrementally narrowed the definition of acceptability over the last seven-plus years to this: nothing, at least when it comes to Obama.

Merrick Garland, the chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, is about as palatable a nominee for the Supreme Court as Obama could send to the Republicans in the Senate. He's moderate, unquestionably qualified and, at 63, probably won't tilt the ideological balance of the court for as long as many liberals would like...

Sympathy For The Bernouts

Butt Clenching Truths | The Confluence:

...I’ll say it again after eight years of saying it: I’ve never been impressed or wowed! by Obama. He’s had a pretty good PR team but I found his campaign speeches to be endless run-on collections of prepositional phrases without a point. Maybe some people are impressed by that. It did nothing for me. His record was, what, spotty? Non-existent? He came out of almost nowhere. His favorite politicians were, um, Republicans. He wrote some self-indulgent biographies. Annnnnd that’s about it. Lawyers, even ones from Harvard, are a dime a dozen these days. Yahhhhwwwn. It’s difficult to find a more establishment politician than Barack Obama.

I am not surprised that there are a lot of Bernie Sanders supporters who feel burned by his two terms in office. They really believed the hype about hope and change, even though the guy they picked doesn’t have a single cell of change in his body. This is the guy who is talking about Hillary’s authenticity. I hope the former Obama supporters who are feeling the Bern this year have learned something but they probably haven’t. I keep thinking I can’t get more disgusted by Obama but he always manages to do it one more time...

Campaign 2016: Sanders and Trump dump on free trade, but they're not telling the whole story - LA Times:

...As Kasich has noted, being in favor of free trade doesn't mean automatically supporting every proposed deal. Multinational agreements such as the TPP include a lot of compromises, and some of these may not be worth making. But to categorically oppose trade deals is to say that the U.S. shouldn't try to bring the rest of the world up to the labor, environmental and commercial standards that apply here. That's a losing strategy, and it would only increase the pressure on policymakers to return to the bad old days of high tariffs that inhibited trade and impeded growth for all concerned.

...Hordes of online trolls swarm her supporters and surrogates, spewing filthy, misogynistic insults.

She is attacked by Republicans, by the media, by the commentariat, and by her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders, who does this (according to Mother Jones):

“Hey, I’m not saying she’s a crook. I’m just saying she drives a pretty nice car, amirite?” I’d say that Sanders is very much questioning the integrity of Clinton herself, and doing it in a pretty familiar way.

And all these attacks have one thing in common: ZERO EVIDENCE.

It’s ALL innuendo and insinuation. Guilt by association. She’s guilty until proven innocent.

There are few things worse you can do to another human than to take their life’s work, their achievements, their goals and dreams, their mistakes and judgments, their failures and successes and TRASH all of it with unsubstantiated, unfounded insinuations...
I got really irked at some people the other night who kept attacking Clinton with the same old crap and I challenged them on offering up any proof. Of course, they had none but that did not slow them down. This sort of behavior is literally killing politics and will eventually kill the country. One of the very few things I agree with tRump about is that libel and slander laws need to be reevaluated. It should be possible to sue people for serial lying and character assassination if you are a public figure. A few well-placed law suits, followed by stiff penalties, would put an end to most of this behavior.

About Those Bernouts

DISSENTING JUSTICE: The Voices: Why Do White Male Progressives Hear Things That No One Else Can?:

...Opinion polls of the 2016 primaries show a similar pattern and provide greater support for my analysis of black votes. Progressives (at this point, it should be clear that progressives means white progressives) have anointed Bernie Sanders as the leftist; Clinton is still a conservative. Although white progressives appear solidly behind Sanders, opinion polls show that Clinton has overwhelming support among Blacks and Latinos. Although white progressives tout Sanders as the best candidate for economic issues, the voting blocs that have the most at stake with respect to economic issues—people of color, the elderly, women, and poor people—support Clinton more than Sanders. By contrast, Sanders polls well with white college students, white college-graduates and graduate-degree holders, white professionals, and white men. In other words, Sanders supporters tend to have more social and economic privilege than Clinton supporters, despite white progressive depiction of Clinton as a conservative. Sanders’s revolutionaries, on average, are not socially subordinate.

Despite pegging Obama as a leftist, white progressives’ admiration for him plunged after he became president. This trend was especially true among young persons. Young white voters cast more votes for Romney in 2012 than they did for Obama, a dramatic turnaround from the 2008 election. For years, they had accused him of betraying his campaign promises. Few progressives, however, were willing to admit publicly that they heard something in Obama that never existed: a narrative of leftist heroism. Obama campaigned as a moderate, and people who actually analyzed the substance of his proposals—such as Paul Krugman—wrote about this frequently. Progressives, however, argued that Krugman, the liberal Nobel Prize winning Princeton economist who writes a column for the New York Times, was a corrupt corporate media spokesperson. These same patterns have taken hold in the 2016 primaries. Persons who find little differences between Clinton and Sanders—or who find that Clinton has better policies—receive blistering criticism from white progressives, even though their misjudgment of Obama is very recent history...

O Murders Fat Tony

Michael Savage: Obama Hired A 2K A Day Hooker To Murder Scalia | Crooks and Liars:

If you thought Alex Jones was the preeminent Antonin Scalia murder conspiracy theory, you may be wrong. AM hate talk radio host Michael Savage, is trying to nudge his way into the conversation by using a National Enquirer story that claims Obama used the CIA to pay a hooker to murder the 79 year old Scalia...

The Low Road Takes A Dive

Republican Party Slams Tammy Duckworth, Veteran Who Nearly Gave Her Life for America - Blue Nation Review:

In a now-deleted tweet, the National Republican Senatorial Committee wrote that Representative Tammy Duckworth — who lost both her legs serving her country in Iraq — “has a sad record of not standing up for veterans...”

The Appeal Of tRump

Millions of ordinary Americans support Donald Trump. Here's why | Thomas Frank | Opinion | The Guardian:

...Now, I have no special reason to doubt the suspicion that Donald Trump is a racist. Either he is one, or (as the comedian John Oliver puts it) he is pretending to be one, which amounts to the same thing.

But there is another way to interpret the Trump phenomenon. A map of his support may coordinate with racist Google searches, but it coordinates even better with deindustrialization and despair, with the zones of economic misery that 30 years of Washington’s free-market consensus have brought the rest of America...

Saying No To All GOPers

Why we can't endorse Trump, Rubio, Cruz or Kasich - Sun Sentinel:

The Sun Sentinel Editorial Board is not going to make an endorsement in Florida's March 15 Republican presidential primary because the kind of person who should be running is not in the race...

Defending Bernie

Bernie Sanders slammed after ‘mental health’ joke about Republicans:

Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders may have just made an ill-advised and politically damaging joke during a debate with Hillary Clinton in Flint, Mich.

“You know, we are, if elected president, going to invest a lot of money into mental health. And when you watch these Republican debates, you know why we need to invest in that,” Sanders quipped during the debate.

Not surprisingly, this light-hearted comment did not sit well with mental health advocates, according to a Los Angeles Times report...
First of all, I have an intimate relationship with mental health issues and mental health professionals so I'm not talking out my blowhole. Bernie's joke was intended to cut the GOPers, which it did, and not cut anyone involved in mental health issues. This minimoment is just another example of political correctness run amok and needs to be treated as such. Meanwhile, don't vote for Sanders; vote for Clinton.

Comment Of The Day: GOPer Convention Hell Edition

The Republican National Convention is going to be so fun this year. The building could possibly spontaneously erupt into flames just from all the hatred crammed together in a single room.

Klansmen Vs. Nazis Vs. Mormons Vs. Evangelicals Vs. Wall Street in a Hell in a Cell match to claim the title of the destroyer of the GOP.

tRump, Bernie, & Genderism

What Bernie Sanders still doesn’t get about arguing with Hillary Clinton - The Washington Post:

...Keep in mind that, if Sanders were to secure the Democratic nomination and then win the election, there are many female heads of state, foreign government representatives and others who are not men, with which Sanders will have to work effectively. It's in many ways the very same reason to concern ourselves with Donald Trump's debate stage and Twitter behavior and the methods and insults he's adopted when attempting to confront women — journalists, political opponents and others.

No one is saying Sanders and Trump are on equal footing in the terrain of public offensiveness or displays of sexism. But when it comes to women, Sanders and some of his supporters' public behavior seem to inhabit a nearby Zip code. And the time where that kind of behavior — even hints of possibly sexist thinking — will be ignored or go unnoticed is probably long dead.

tRump And Cruz Defined

Don’t Let Trump’s Antics Distract You From Cruz’s Unwavering Extremist Agenda:

...In truth, he might just have been a little unnerved. Suddenly, it is obvious that the only real competition he has is Tailgunner Ted Cruz, and that puts He, Trump, a charlatan who only recently became a kind of monster, in a head-to-head brawl with someone who has been raised since birth to be one. Trump is an opportunist who saw a chance and half-ran, half-stumbled toward it. Cruz is someone who's had his eyes on the prize since before Princeton and Harvard Law loosed him upon the world. Trump is a man of grandiose, hopelessly vague promises. Cruz is dead-serious about hauling the country into retrograde theocracy and Gilded Age economics. Trump places his faith in Two Corinthians, which I believe is a pizza and sandwich joint on Staten Island. Cruz considers himself to be both a vehicle for political extremism and the instrument of the living God. You decide which frightens you more...

No Indictments Of Clinton Will Be Forthcoming

Clinton emails continue to be non-scandal, disappointing Republicans - The Washington Post:

...In recent weeks, I’ve had a couple of liberal friends and relatives ask me, with something approaching panic, “I just heard that Clinton is about to be indicted. Is that true?!?” The answer is no, but they heard that because it’s something conservatives say constantly. Tune to to talk radio or surf through conservative web sites, and before long you’ll hear someone say that the Clinton indictment is coming any day now. Donald Trump, with his characteristically tenuous relationship to reality, frequently says that she’s about to be indicted or that she won’t be permitted to run for president because she’ll be on trial. It hasn’t happened and it won’t happen, but that isn’t going to stop them from saying it.

Are The tRumpers Walking With Jesus?

William Rivers Pitt | A Call to Evangelical Trump Voters:

...People of genuine faith are appalled and horrified by your support of this man. They genuinely don't understand it. I have a friend, the scion of a vast family of deep evangelical faith, who just got back from building houses for poor people in Africa. He wants to throw up when beholding this preposterous phenomenon. I disagree with just about everything he stands for politically, but the man has sand, is a wonderful father and has honor to spare. He practices what he preaches, and the very idea of evangelical voters supporting the walking lie that is Donald Trump makes him want to dig a hole and die in it.

Why is this happening? I have a fairly straightforward explanation: You're a pack of marauding frauds. The "morals" and "values" you've been attempting to ram-feed the country for going on 40 years are ashes in your mouths if you stand up for Donald Trump. He represents everything you allegedly despise, and yet you run through walls to support him. Donald Trump is the moneychanger Jesus whipped out of the temple in his wrath, and here you are hitching your wagon to his star. You're not "evangelicals." You're football fans rooting for a team, jumping on board with the guy you think can win, and to hell with the contradictions. You literally reek to high heaven...

They're All Grifters Here

Clash of Republican Con Artists - The New York Times:

So Republicans are going to nominate a candidate who talks complete nonsense on domestic policy; who believes that foreign policy can be conducted via bullying and belligerence; who cynically exploits racial and ethnic hatred for political gain.
From Our Advertisers

But that was always going to happen, however the primary season turned out. The only news is that the candidate in question is probably going to be Donald Trump. Establishment Republicans denounce Mr. Trump as a fraud, which he is. But is he more fraudulent than the establishment trying to stop him? Not really...

It's Time For Bernie To Go

#Feelthebern Has Flamed Out | Will Hillary Win:

...Proportionality also means that mathematically there is no path forward for Bernie Sanders to win the nomination. The Guardian headlined an article after Super Tuesday: “The cold, hard truth: it’s game over for Bernie Sanders.” And indeed, it is. Not all the hope in Bernie’s world can overcome the harsh reality of math.

No doubt, Bernie’s supporters will take umbrage at hearing the reality that their quixotic journey is over. Nevertheless, facts are facts no matter how harsh they may feel. Even Salon, which has been steadfast in supporting Bernie’s candidacy ran an article the day after Super Tuesday entitled “Hillary’s nomination is inevitable: Bernie has fought the good fight, after Super Tuesday, the numbers just don’t add up for him...”
The real question, posed in the post above at the link, is will Bernie bow out gracefully? Or will he and his supporters make this a bitch-fight until the end? Right now, many of his supporters are acting like this is a high school popularity contest, rather than the deadly serious business of who will be appointing SCOTUS nominees, dealing with climate change, and facing our foreign enemies, not to mention the host of civil right issues that loom on the horizon. Sanders claims to be a "man of the people," but would a self-proclaimed booster of the common man give aid and comfort to a man and a political party that is the antithesis of all those values? Everyone who is on the American people's side of the fence, rather than the minions of the 1%, needs to get on board with making sure no Republican, from dog-catcher to President, is elected this November. That's probably not possible, but by dropping the silly pretenses of political miracles, we can at least get a Democrat back in the White House.

Country Club Angst Roosting In

GOP elites have only themselves to blame for Trump - The Orange County Register:

A top Republican consultant whined last week that “Donald Trump is hijacking the Republican Party.”

Really?

This is a common and almost comical complaint these days from the establishment wing of the GOP, the same people who have hijacked the party pretty much since the end of the Reagan era.

In his disgraceful and classless rant against Trump on Thursday, Mitt Romney even unveiled a new strategy by the establishment: Keep Trump from getting a majority of the delegates (though he is very likely to win a plurality) and then steal the election from Trump at the convention. Ironically, these are the same people who were making fun of the Democrats for “rigging” their nomination process to favor Hillary Clinton...
Rigging for Clinton? After the 08 debacle in which Clinton won more votes by far than Obama, the Democrats refused to allow her name in nomination, and people she and Bill had loyally supported for years started stabbing her in the back, a GOPer dares complain about "rigging?"

On GOPer Conversion

Republican says Obamacare saved his life: 'Thank you for serving me even when I didn’t vote for you':

Brent Brown introduced President Obama at an event in Milwaukee yesterday. He told the crowd about a letter he sent to President Obama, something he never would’ve imagined he’d be doing. Brent is a Republican voter who has admittedly said terrible things about the president in the past. But, Brent said that all changed when he became gravely ill and the Affordable Care Act saved his life. He sent a crushingly honest letter to President Obama, apologizing for his brash opposition to the president and the Affordable Care Act...

Feminism Today

With more women in power, hand size irrelevant - Chicago Tribune:

...It may be purely coincidental that as women display greater public power, certain presidential candidates have felt a greater need to assert their sexual power, and, in the most juvenile of ways, trade taunts over whose "hands" are bigger.

Coincidental or not, their belittling of each other diminishes them more than it does women.

As all grown-ups, male or female, know, the measure of a person lies in their ideas and actions, not in their body parts.

Flogging The "Liberal" Hypocrites

Daily PUMA: Cenk Uygur's Super Tuesday Downward Spiral into Clinton Derangement Syndrome.:

...What Cenk doesn't tell you about Super Tuesday is that two of Bernie's four victories were in democrat caucus contests. What Cenk Uygur won't tell you is that Hillary Clinton is KNOWN to do between 10 to 30 points worse in democrat caucus contests than her actual popularity if that same state had had a primary contest instead. It is very likely that if Colorado and Minnesota had actually run primaries instead of caucuses Hillary Clinton would have won both Colorado and Minnesota...

But First Some Comedy, Then Veeps

Cannonfire-- "Let's talk veep":

...Traditionally, the veep slot should go to a candidate liked by those voters who normally don't gravitate toward the main candidate. Since Trump and Clinton appeal to such radically different segments of the population, the solution is obvious: They should pick each other. Trump/Clinton versus Clinton/Trump. I see no Constitutional problems with this arrangement. This idea aligns with the overall theme of this election season: Let's make America insane again...

When Even They Oppose You...

GOP ex-national security officials: Say no to Trump - CNNPolitics.com:

A group of leaders in the Republican foreign policy and national security community wrote an open letter condemning Donald Trump and pledging to oppose his presidential candidacy.

"We are unable to support a Party ticket with Mr. Trump at its head," they wrote in the letter, first posted Wednesday night on the website warontherocks.com.

The Daily Flashback: Rise Of The BernieBot Edition

From May 2015...

The Right Baits the Left to Turn Against Hillary Clinton - The New York Times:

...For months now, America Rising has sent out a steady stream of posts on social media attacking Mrs. Clinton, some of them specifically designed to be spotted, and shared, by liberals. The posts highlight critiques of her connections to Wall Street and the Clinton Foundation and feature images of Democrats like Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York, interspersed with cartoon characters and pictures of Kevin Spacey, who plays the villain in “House of Cards.” And as they are read and shared, an anti-Clinton narrative is reinforced.

America Rising is not the only conservative group attacking Mrs. Clinton from the left. Another is American Crossroads, the group started by Karl Rove, which has been sending out its own digital content, including one ad using a speech Ms. Warren gave at the New Populism Conference in Washington last May...

Former Obot Hearts Clinton

Shakesville: Hillary Sexism Watch, Part Wev in an Endless Series: ...Former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau:

"I had the chance to serve in the Obama administration with someone who was far different than the caricature I had helped perpetuate. The most famous woman in the world would walk through the White House with no entourage, casually chatting up junior staffers along the way. She was by far the most prepared, impressive person at every Cabinet meeting. She worked harder and logged more miles than anyone in the administration, including the president. And she'd spend large amounts of time and energy on things that offered no discernible benefit to her political future—saving elephants from ivory poachers, listening to the plight of female coffee farmers in Timor-Leste, defending LGBT rights in places like Uganda. Most of all—and you hear this all the time from people who've worked for her—Hillary Clinton is uncommonly warm and thoughtful. She surprises with birthday cakes. She calls when a grandparent passes away. She once rearranged her entire campaign schedule so a staffer could attend her daughter's preschool graduation. Her husband charms by talking to you; Hillary does it by listening to you—not in a head-nodding, politician way; in a real person way..."

No Surprise Racists At tRump Rally

Neo-Nazis at Trump rally caught on video roughing up black woman: ‘You’re scum, your time will come!’:

White supremacists hurled racist and sexist slurs Tuesday afternoon as they pushed a black protester out of a Donald Trump rally in Kentucky.

You Need Clinton

It's time for the haters to get behind Hillary Clinton | Rachel Sklar | Opinion | The Guardian:

...When she comes under fire for her tone, for her ambition, for her likability, for somehow not being inspirational enough; when she’s asked about who will pick out china or when yet another smear email goes viral, ready to be added to her Snopes archive; when someone muses that it’s not that she’s a woman, but they just don’t like her, or even worse, proclaims hotly that they’d rather not vote than vote for Hillary – it’s time to step up. Because that is the language of undermining your potential and likely candidate for president.

If you care about what Bernie Sanders stands for, you will need her. If you care about who sits on the US supreme court you will need her. If you care about women’s reproductive self-determination, you will need her. If you care about racial justice, you will need her. Rethinking Clinton

Give Hillary Clinton Another Look:

...I've known Hillary and worked with her. She can be serious and funny. She inspires fervent camaraderie in her staff. She is the most intelligent woman I have ever met.

More importantly, she has the right temperament to lead us safely through the labyrinths of a dangerous world. She is both tough enough to be commander in chief, and compassionate enough to understand what our country needs to do to restore faith in the American Dream...

Gravity Waves In Your Brain

WhyGravitational Waves Are Red Herrings:

...Third, until reality is united into one whole, science cannot justify its claim to understand nature. This isn't simply a piece of grumpy skepticism. The Heisenberg cut raises a wall inside the human brain, because the brain is both a large object and totally dependent on quantum events taking place at the very most fundamental level of brain cells. Being unable to fuse the two domains of reality comes to a crunch every time you think a thought. At the large scale level of classical physics, your thought can be detected as increased neural activity that "lights up" on a brain scan. Yet this isn't the same as reading your mind. Only you know what your thought is.
Until we understand the conundrum betwixt the very large and the very small, we will never understand tRump.
