Tea Baggers Tea Leaves

My bold here-- Dick Armey and Matt Kibbe: A Tea Party Manifesto - WSJ.com: "...By definition, government is the means by which citizens are forced to do that which they would not do voluntarily. Like pay high taxes. Or redistribute tax dollars to bail out the broken, bloated pension systems of state government employees. Or purchase, by federal mandate, a government-defined health-insurance plan that is unaffordable, unnecessary or unwanted..."

In North Carolina, where the employees fund a good bit of the pension system via involuntary payroll deduction, the State has, on multiple occasions raided the employees pension fund to balance the budget. In essence, since the lawmakers refused to raise taxes, the employees were forced to balance the budget for tax cuts. That, apparently, is the Holy Grail of the Tea Party-- getting access to employee pension funds and then the grandest prize-- Social Security. Tax cuts, to get the economy revving, naturally, could be funded from all those bloated pension systems that the employees paid for via deductions and taxes.

And that's what's in the tea leaves.
