Lucky Choice?

“The Obama Method” -or- “How to win an election by not being on the ballot” « The Confluence "Barack Obama made one decision this election season that very well may have won him the presumptuous nomination. That decision was to remove his name from the ballot in Michigan. The irony of such a move is obvious now. By removing his name from the ballot, he managed to enhance his own chances of winning. When the UN or Jimmy Carter see this kind of maneuver in developing countries they call it what it is…rigging an election. The rest of us have another name for it, banana republic, and we’re not talking retail. But in most cases, the offender takes his or her name off of the ballot to avoid losing. In Obama’s case he managed to avoid losing and later was actually rewarded with votes he didn’t receive for doing so..."
