Dem Delusional Hope?

Democrats see strange new hope in two red state races - The Washington Post:

...If Edwards can climb to 50 percent in the Nov. 21 runoff, and if Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway can win that state's gubernatorial race -- both outcomes that would reflect current polling -- Democrats will have waged strange comebacks in states that loudly rejected Barack Obama for president. "Strange," because the conditions are not the sort that Democrats can or would repeat elsewhere. Democrats are in the hunt for Louisiana thanks to the re-emergence of the prostitution scandal that Vitter has never truly recovered from. Conway, widely seen to lack the retail skills of incumbent Gov. Steve Beshear (D-Ky.), is in a position to take over that job because a messy Republican primary nominated tea party activist Matt Bevin, whose political debut was a cursed primary bid against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell...
