From "Nam to Today

The People's Republic of Seabrook: The few, the proud, the hypocritical....:

". . . So who’s the coward now? The person who opposes the war effort and stands up for what they believe in, or the hypocrites who whole-heartedly supports the war effort from his or her safe perch in the trenches of a college campus? If you are so strong supportive of the war in Iraq, then why aren’t you in uniform? Why aren’t you doing your part to demonstrate the depth of your commitment? Why? Because it’s a whole lot easier (not to mention safer) than dodging IEDs in Fallujah, eh?

So where do you think some of these trolls learned their hypocrisy? Well, you might start by asking where their parents were and what they were doing during the Vietnam War. I think you’ll probably discover that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree…."

I wonder about this-- from my own limited perspective, it certainly seems that the children of draft dodgers are more likely to be pro-war but then that might well be my own lens of perception distorting reality. It would certainly make for an interesting study for someone with means and time and inclination.
