Leahy Angry

Daily Kos: State of the Nation:
". . .Democrats, though, are outraged, and they are publicly denouncing the program:

'Are you telling me that tens of millions of Americans are involved with Al Qaeda?' Senator Patrick J. Leahy of Vermont, the committee's ranking minority member, asked angrily. [...]

'It's our government, our government!' he said, turning red in the face and waving a copy of USA Today. 'It's not one party's government, it's America's government!'

And that's the difference. The Republican Party thinks this is their government, their government to manipulate, corrupt, and break down. Democrats know that this is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Not bought by lobbyists, not bought by donors, not existing to prop up the rich nor built to ignore the poor. It is ours, our government to hold accountable, and our government to change come midterm elections. . ."
