From someone in San Diego right now, a modicum of sense surfaces amidst all the racist claptrap flapping about in the blogosphere.
TBogg - "...a somewhat popular blogger": "...This is one of the reasons why the San Diego fires are so different than the devastation caused by Katrina in New Orleans. The devastation is not city wide. Therefore we have the resources and the luxury of being able to take care of those who need help, and things have run smoothly because of lessons learned from the Cedar fires a few years ago. Using what is going on down at Qualcomm Stadium with the debacle at the Superdome during Katrina is like comparing apples with ....stadiums.
So, please stop. It's not cultural. It's just a different situation in a different climate."
