Whether it's Jesse Helms warning Bill Clinton to stay out of North Carolina or Scott Brown telling Obama he can't have an opinion on the Massachusetts Senate race, various GOPers and wannabes are always telling Democratic presidents that they can't be involved in any of the local issues. I don't recall anyone telling Reagan or the Bushes they must stay away, though that might have been a good idea in some cases.
