I think not. Why should the guy or gal I hired to do the cover for my novel be compensated any further than the original contract payment? Of course, if a royalty agreement with the artist is in place before hand, that is a different story. Following the logic here, then I should be paid for every news article I wrote back in my PR flack days when those articles are reproduced.
