Capitol Journal: Celebrating Ronald Reagan the centrist - latimes.com:
"Call me the skunk at the picnic, but as conservatives celebrate Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday, I'll remind them that their icon often governed as a moderate.
Reagan talked like an unbending small-government ideologue, but in Sacramento and Washington he acted as a flexible whatever-size-fits pragmatist..."
Those rose colored glasses often reveal past that never was, and the constant blubbering over Reagan ignores the dead Marines in Beirut, among other events the neocon crowd would like to forget. Soon we'll be having Reagan sightings at Wal-Mart and the crippled will walk again after praying to a Ronald bobble-head.
