Since my opening post kicking off TPM’s Book Club this week, I’ve learned that we can add “Dusty” Foggo to the pantheon of Iran/Contra veterans who went on to higher positions in the Bush administration. Turns out that Dusty’s first CIA job was in Honduras in the 1980s. Aside from attending to his official duties, Foggo also helped his long-time pal Brent Wilkes -- the defense contractor implicated in the bribery scandal involving Congressman Randy “Duke” Cunningham – broker meetings between Contra leaders and conservative lawmakers, including San Diego’s Bill Lowery, who was part of a Republican task force that helped to sell Reagan’s Nicaragua war to Congress. . ."
