Without A Hint Of Irony, Catholic Chris Christie Says 'The Pope Is Wrong' | Crooks and Liars
Last night, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (who is Catholic) said on CNN's State of the Union, that the Pope, who according to Catholic dogma was chosen by God himself, was wrong to help make that deal. Christie thinks the Catholic leader should stay of politics entirely because his infallibility only pertains to religious matters.
However that is contradictory to what Catholic theology says, which means actions and teachings taken by the Pope must not contradict Sacred Scripture. Repairing the relations between two fighting countries certainly doesn't go against any scripture I'm aware of...
