The Pumasphere [ insert trademark symbol, insert copyright symbol, insert patent notice, insert exponent superscript for emphasis {its mine!mine!mine! givemecredit or illwhimperallnight}] has erupted in an exchange of racism and densism charges. Here and here.

Interesting choice of words here, albeit not terribly original. The woman/cat thing is not only hackneyed and old, it speaks to the desperate clawing for wit that eludes so many, but never seems to prevent them from trying, one last time, to get a bump from that old "cat/woman" thing. And my god, what a PURRFECT opportunity--use PUMA to once again try the old cat fight thingy.
Except...People United Means Action has little to do with cats of any sort. It is actually one of the most patriotic groups of people the world has ever seen, many of whom have put their lives, families, livelihoods and themselves on hold to work almost 24/7 to alert their country to the real horrors that have been taking place in their electoral system and their media and, heaven forbid, try to restore professional standards to both.
So, how is it that the incredible energy, talent and sheer magnitude of this patriotic effort becomes reduced by someone to a few lazy lines about "duh...PUMAS,Cat Fight" in an attempt to supplant intelligent commentary?
How is it that a disagreement between men is called a Feud instead of a dog fight...
And how is it that support of one's allies is so easily thrown under the bus? Ask a Marine about taking care of one's own. It is a concept we should all learn and follow as completely as they do. Semper Fi.
I was trying to be snotty about bloggers claiming special powers of wordsmithing by using Latin suffixes and roots. I obviously missed the mark. You are exactly right in your criticism. I apologize. The sexism of it never occurred me; so what would you have me do? Pull the post or leave it up as reminder?
