College presidents collecting big paychecks:

Eight college presidents in Pennsylvania earn more than $500,000 a year in total compensation, but none appears near the $1.17 million received by Vanderbilt University's E. Gordon Gee.
The Chronicle of Higher Education today released its annual report on the pay of chief executive officers in higher education.
In its survey of 853 institutions or systems, Dr. Gee was the only continuing president whose compensation topped $1 million, although two with sizable deferred salary payments or retirement benefits were paid as much as $2.7 million..."
