Following is just one example of the pounding this story has taken in the past week:

This weekend, Iraqi and coalition forces announced the capture of the number two man in 'al-Qaeda in Iraq.' An Iraqi security advisor said, 'We believe that al-Qaeda in Iraq suffers from a serious leadership crisis. Our troops have dealt fatal and painful blows to this organization.' I doubt that's true, but let's say it is: it doesn't matter. . ."
However, to mount a rather weak defense of capturing 6,424 #2 terrorists, one could argue that after you capture the first #2, then #3 is promoted to #2 and etc. Or you could say that al-Qaeda has a modern corporate structure with 6, 424 vice-presidents, each sucking the flesh from the bones of the organization like obese sea slugs. Why don't we encourage them to make everyone in the organization #2, that way no one is subordinate and no one's feelings are hurt. That sort of structure and planning has helped us become so incredibly productive, right? Right? Right?
