God wanted Ted Haggard evangelical sex/drugs scandal revealed right before the election

“God does things when he thinks they’re appropriate,” said Larry Stockstill, the pastor of the Bethany World Prayer Center in Louisiana, from which the New Life Church began in 1985 as an outreach mission. So God thought the evangelicals and their anti-gay obsessed leadership needed to be taken down a peg just in time to influence the election. Wow.
“What’s going to happen in the nation?” Mr. Stockstill said. “You know what — I don’t think that’s your concern or mine. He chose this incredibly important time for this sin to be revealed and I actually think it’s a good thing — I believe America needs a shaking, spiritually.”
From the post's comment thread:
"The Republican party has fun calling the Democratic Party the Democrat Party.
I think it's time we start calling the Republicans the Publican Party.
Publicans were contractors who bid for government work and were notorious for their corruption. The term is also well-known among evangelicals because Jesus sat with "publicans and sinners" in order to heal them because they were sick.
"
I like it. I'm going to do it.

Cool. Hope it catches on because it fits.
I especially like the Biblical tie-in.
